Hosokawa constantly kept on developing this mixer on aspects as mixing quality, reliability and cleanability which resulted in the Vrieco-Nauta® conical mixer still being the number one mixer long after its introduction.
The Vrieco-Nauta® conical mixer is a convective mixer with a high mixing efficiency which treats your product gently and guarantees the highest level of mixing accuracy without product distortion.
The Typical speed of the screw is around 70 Rpm and of the arm 1 to 2 Rpm. The Tip speed can fluctuate between 0.5 and 2m/s. This insures a good overall movement of the particles and a good mixing without segregation and product damage.

Main features of the Vrieco Nauta® mixer
Mixing accuracy: Materials are mixed to the highest level of accuracy, even if some of the components are only present in minor quantities at a ratio of 1 to 100.000.
Mixer design: Product lines available especially for Pharma and food application in cantilevered execution up till 40.000 litre.
Segregative powders: Due to the mass flow discharge characteristics the Vrieco Nauta is the mixer for segregative powders.
Flexibility in process: The Vrieco Nauta mixer has a flexible working capacity from 10 - 100% of filling rate without loosing its mixing accuracy.
Fragile components: The mixing process is accomplished with a minimal energy input and without generation of heat and without damaging product structures.
Mixing efficiency: Due to the unique mixing principle the Vrieco-Nauta® conical mixer is able to produce batches in a size from 5 to 100.000 litres faster than any other similar convectional mixer.
Fast and full discharge: Discharge rates up to 40.000 litres/hr are possible. Depending on product characteristics, levels of residues after discharge up till 0.001% can be achieved.

Cleaning: These conical mixers are easy cleanable either in a dry way using special extra large doors on the vessel or in a wet way using spraying devices.
