Working Principle

The Hosokawa centrifugal sifter is a high capacity continuous sieve used in bulk powder flows. The working principal of the sifter is based on centrifugal forces and impaction.

The base powder is fed to the sieve chamber by an integrated conveying screw. When the product enters the sieve chamber it’s dispersed over the sieve deck by the rotor. Due to acceleration of the product it passes the sieve deck. Coarser particles will be conveyed over the sieve deck and end up in the coarse outlet.

Capacity:
Depending on product characteristics (texture, grain size) powders and granules can be sieved within a range of 100 to 2000 microns. With the Hosokawa sifter products can be processed at a capacity up to 60 m3/h.
